What age do you think is good for dating? I think it's completely okay to date at a young age because it is a kid's way of experimenting! But, I'm not satisfied with just my opinion! What do you think? Thanks 4 reading!:)

I think dating is something that should wait, until at least after high school. It becomes too much stress and drama for young people and does, in my opinion, a lot of psychological damage. Constantly breaking up and finding someone new, then repeating the cycle again and again, no wonder the divorce rate exceeds 50%. We accept the idea that people won't stay with us forever and we never learn to expect or accept stability in our lives.

What age are you! You don't "need" to be experimenting. I think at 13 you should be able to go out in groups... as far as dating on your own... whenever your parents feel you are ready!

I think it varies by the person, just as pretty much everything else in life varies. I agree with Danielnoahsmommy - at 13, groups are fine. My fear with people who don't begin dating until College is that they think their "first love" is their "forever love" and they make bad (but legal) decisions based on no experience on the dating scene.

I also think the age of both parties - both the male and female - need to be considered.

I agree with Judy and Danielnoahsmommy as well. I won't let my daughter go out on a date alone until she is at least 15 or 16. If you start dating at a young age and experiment and have sex at 13 years old you could get pregnant or get an STD and then your parents will have to suffer from your bad decisions. So, I think that 15 or 16 should be the age to date. At least you would be old enough to know a little more about the decisions that you make and you don't go experimenting with sex or drugs. Only my opinion.

Well from my experience I began dating in 7th grade so for me it was like 12 years old... now being 17 years old I do kind of know what I'm looking for in a guy. But I still wouldn't settle down just yet.

Young is OK, 16 is a good age

I don't think it's the age that would determine when it's the best time to date but when the person is mature enough to realize that consequences and the reality of dating. Which really doesn't set in at a young age.
