What Does F-1 Error Code F-28 Mean

An F1 (F01) is a communication error between the control board and the EPROM on that board (the place where the program is stored). It usually means you have a defective control board. You could try to reset the unit by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in and seeing if it will reset itself. If not, you will probably have to replace the control board.

According to my sheet, F28 is a serial communication error between the control board and the motor control unit. This may also be caused by the bad control board.
