Does it take a while to come out pregnant when you have an irregular period??

Can I ask if there is a medical reason for irregular periods?
Irregular periods should not limit your chances of getting pregnant but if you ovulate at irregular times not ''mid-cycle'' which is common with irregular periods, it may be helpful for you to get your doc to check if you are in fact ovulating regularly. If you are, then an ovulation kit (which you can buy at a pharmacy) will help you time intercourse by indicating when you''re about to ovulate.
Hope this helps:):)

It can take a while. I have very irregular periods (once every other month, sometimes every 2 months, only for about 2 or 3 days)
And it took my duaghters father and I 3 years of constant sexual activity before we got pregnant.
How old are you? How long have you been trying to get pregnant. Talk to your doctor. There are medications he can put you on to help produce more regular periods.

It takes many couples over a year before conceiving. The fact that your period is irregular shouldn't have much of an effect, it's all about the timing. Considering the window of time for an egg to become fertilized is so small, you'd be amazed that it ever happens at all.
Be patient and if it hasn't happened after a year or so of trying, then see out fertility testing.
