the gfi is for outlets only.... it will not work with a switch i dont think.I have no idea what this means, but a GFI will work with a switch.

I have just single black and white wire at old switchThis CANNOT be done without adding wire.

You have a switch loop, which means there is no neutral at the switch box.

To install a receptacle in this bath you are going to need to run a new 20A circuit for it.

I think You CAN DO it. If it is a switch loop, you still will have a hot and neutral for the lightn and then connect the GFI, No extra wires. I think stan may be thinking you are installing at the switch box.
I thinking you are pulling power for GFI from light?

Can only be done if you pull new cable from light fixture to outlet location.

Yeah, that is how I read it.

Did I misread it? I can't tell now.

I think this is yet another case of a poor description of the situation. :(
