Have you mated them already?

If you haven't please do not do it!

You need to have both the sire and the dam health tested by a vet, an no that is not just take them in and see if they are healthy, you need to do blood tests and find out their hip scores.

Both dogs should be AKC registered and have their Championship titles, as should the grandparents and their grandparents and so on...
They both need to be excellent examples of the breed as breeding should only be done to try and pass the good qualities of the sire and dam onto the puppies.

Breeding is definitely not for profit or fun. Breeding can actually cost you money contrary to popular belief.

Breeding is expensive.
A C-section on the dam can cost up to $3000 if there is any complications during birth.

The dam may reject the puppies and you will have to feed them every 2 hours (yes, even through the night)

Puppies need to be vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, registered, and a contract drawn up for spay/neuter.

Go to your local shelter and have a look at how many dalmatiand there are.
Try Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder (http://www.petfinder.com) and see just how many there are.
