What is the best way to find an honest attorney?

I need someone advise me on the sale of inherited property and prepare a will for my wife myself for the benefit of our 3 children. I can do most of the legwork I just need someone to turn plain english into a legal document. Plus someone who can explain legal mumbo jumbo in plain english.

Preparing a will is a simple task and I would allow any lawyer to handle it. As for the sale of the property, what advise do you need?

I thought honest lawyer was an oxymoron (just kidding you lawyer dudes) ;)

I want to make sure that everything is on the up and up with capital gains tax. I also want to make sure that I keep as much of the proceeds as legally possible.

I have been looking for an honest attorney for quite some time and I work in a lawyer's office.

You can try word of mouth in your area. You may just have to handle the lawyer that will handle your situation, if you stay on top of the case and your attorney's bill, that's as honest as you can get.
