So.. my problem is that I have a sore throat and my ear is hurting. As there is the swine flu I am afraid that I got it but I am afriad to tell my parents to get me checked for it :confused: How should I tell them and does this flu leave any effects after it is cured :eek::confused::(?

If you have the flu then... drum roll... you have the flu! A sore throat and ear ache are not the only symptoms of the flu. Tell your folks that you have a sore throat. There's no reason to think that it's the flu and it may not be the flu (influenza), and if it is the flu, it may not be the swine flu (H1N1). If you do have the flu, you'll know it very soon. It will get worse before it gets better. It might be strep throat, and that should be treated with antibiotics to prevent rheumatic fever or other such baddies.

Influenza can be a rough disease - high fever, body aches, etc. People do die from the flu. However, once you recover, there are no after effects.
