My husband is going into the military and will 95% be going overseas. I need to complete a will for us both prior. He has no children I have three from previous marriages. I need a form I can download for free as money is a huge problem right now. He basically wants to leave everything to me but wants assurance I will give his mother in Morocco 1/2 of the life insurance policy he gets because he is a solider. I don't have a problem with that.

However is there a will that can cover us both but allow me to leave money to my children if I die (two of my girls are adults and one is 11 and lives with her father). Or do I have to do a seprate will?

Any directions on what to do for my unique situation would be helpful.

Thank you,

Ang

There is no such thing as a joint Will. You can write individual Wills with the same or similar provisions, of course, or with different provisions.

His life insurance benefit will go outside of his Will to the beneficiary he designates. If he wants 1/2 to go his mother, then that is how the beneficiary designation should read.

Wills are tricky - depending on the area you are in you might be able to locate an Attorney who will prepare the Wills for no charge because your husband is in the Military. Call your local Bar Association and ask.

First I have not been in service for a while, but does he not have use or help from legal assistance for a will from the military.

Next if he wants 1/2 of his life insurance to go to mother, he does that in the life policy, the money does not go to the estate normally ( unless he tells it to) so he would put you down as 50 percnet and mother at 50 percent and the insurance pays that direct.
