If the deadbeat owes $50000 how is it fair he can see his kids still? Is it in the best interest of the kids or his not to pay?

HOW is he a deadbeat? JUST because he can't/hasn't paid? Or are there other reasons here? If this is the only reason then there is no real reason as to why he wouldn't be able to see his children? Of course he needs to pay. What state is this?

Did you just ask how someone who owes $50000 is a deadbeat? I mean what more does it take??

It takes a lot more then just someone saying there is money owed by another party. Deadbeat is a certain category. Most people don't use it correctly.

First, please pay more attention to posting guidelines. There is a read first sticky at the top of the Children forum that directs legal questions to this forum.

Second, the law keeps visitation separate from support so that custodial parents can't blackmail NCPs with witholding their kids from the NCP.

There is a question about whether he is a deadbeat or not because we don't know why he hasn't paid. Is it because he's dodging payments or can't afford to make them?

First visits and child support are not related items,

It is normally but not always in the best interest of the child, since a relationship with both parents have been shown to be important for a child.

If he is not paying, is there a reason, has he been unemployed,
And if he is 5000 behind, how long is this, if he pays 2000 a month, that is not really that far, if he pays 500 a month that is alonger time.

How many times have you taken him back to court for contempt.

Have you turned this over to your state child support enforcement

Have you asked the court for a garnishment of his pay

Visitation and support are two separate issues. Two wrongs don't make a right. Have you taken him back to court to find out why he isn't paying?
