My dryer takes over 2 hrs to dry a load. My hose is not blocked twisted up or too long. The dryer does heat up, but only runs for about 30 then shuts off. I have to restart it about 4 times to get the clothes clean no matter if it's set at more dry or timed dry

If you are sure that your vent lines are not plugged with lint and there is no other blockage, and if you're sure that the dryer is heating up, then there must be a problem with the thermal switch (thermostat) - the switch that turns gas or electricity off and on.

I'm not familiar with this brand but I did locate a manual that might be helpful:

Roper Dryer User Manual (http://www.managemyhome.com/mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0605351.pdf)

There is a "troubleshooting" section in there. Here's a quote from it:

"Clothes are not drying satisfactorily
Check the following:

- Is the lint screen clogged with lint?
- Is the exhaust vent or outside exhaust hood clogged with lint, restricting air movement? Run the dryer for 5-10 minutes. Hold your hand under the outside exhaust hood to check air movement. If you do not feel air movement, clean exhaust system of lint or replace exhaust vent with heavy metal or flexible metal vent.
- Is the exhaust vent crushed or kinked? Replace with heavy metal or flexible metal vent. See your Installation Instructions.
Are fabric softener sheets blocking the grille? Use only one fabric softener sheet, and use it only once,
- Is the dryer located in a room with temperature below 45°F (7°0)? Proper operation of dryer cycles requires temperatures above 45°F (7°C).
-Was a cold rinse water used? Was the load very wet? Expect longer drying times with items rinsed in cold water and with items that hold moisture (cottons).
- Is the load too large and heavy to dry quickly? Separate the load to tumble freely."

If you take the vent off the back can you feel good air flow and will your clothes dry with the vent hose removed? How long do you have to wait before you can turn your dryer back on? Right away or more that 1/2 hour.
