In the one bedroom flat I have, the washing machine waste water pipe fits into a drain away pipe that is blocked. Unfortunately once I have pulled out the washing machine there is not a lot of room and the drain away pipe is not easily accessible. The pipe has blocked before and I have used chemical drain unblocker, this has worked, and I am thinking of using it again. As I have mentioned there is little room to 'rod' the pipe as you cannot get access to the end of the pipe to put the rod down, maybe a flexible type of 'rodding' device would work, but even then there is not a lot of room.

So the problem is really about access to the pipe to try and unblock it. Note the drain away pipe goes from the kitchen into the toilet to a main down pipe, all of this piping is hidden by kitchen units, another problem.

Any suggestions, should I just poor the chemicals down again?

Thanks

Avoid chemicals and stick with a steel snake. It may be a snug space but you need to give rodding a try. A drum auger may be your best bet. Cobra™ Drum Auger - Augers - Ace Hardware (http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1280064)
