Every time the hot water faucet is turned on in the bathrooms, the pipe starts making a loud 'shaking and knocking' sound. . Advice what causes this problem and how can I fix it.

Thx

Are you sure that it is the hot water pipe that is doing the shaking and knocking sound? The reason I ask is because there are many causes for this problem and one of them is that the valve in the commode can cause this when you open a valve, like you opening the hot water faucet, it sill cause the commode valve to open and close rapidly and this will make the noise. Another cause can be a loose washer in the faucet you are using. Or it could be a washer loose in the cut off stop where the water connects coming out of the wall, this is called a supply stop.

I would suggest you feel of the different pipes while someone else is turning on and off the hot water in the faucet you are complaining about.

Let us know what the results are.

I am not an expert on this, however could it be air in the pipes?
