This is a central A/C heat pump. My daughter left it on ""80" on a day that went over 101. So last time the thermostat said 80 and when I turned it lower, it never cooled down. There is air coming out of the vents. Thank you so much.

If it was on 80 and it is in the heat of the day over 100 degrees it will probably not drop any lower till the sun goes down. How is your air filter?

The filter is new.
