I have a short story which will create some big news in the world as it amounts to a great discovery. I tried to contact the media to sell the story to major media company. However, getting in contact with the media proved almost impossible to me. Therefore, as an alternative, I am trying to publish the story (the story alone)as a book (or booklet rather). Can I do that? This booklet will have only 2 or 3 pages but would be very informative. Is that OK?

Hi, Sampath99!

Do you have an agent to represent you? Also, what is the story about and are you looking for some sort of financiasl gain by the publishing of it?

Thanks!

You can self publish. There are many company's out there that will publish your book for a fee and even promote it.

It can be expensive, but it's the best way to guarantee publication.

Hi clough,

No I do not have an agent and yes I am looking for financial gain from it. My question is... can I create a 1 or 2 page book?

Hi again, Sampath99!

If you would like to publish it on a large scale, you'll most certainly need an agent to represent you to publishing houses. The major publishers aren't likely to look at any work that isn't represented by an agent because they get so many works to look at.

As has already been mentioned, you can self-publish it. But, it can be expensive.

I asked you earlier as to what the subject is concerning what you have written. It would be helpful to know about that in order to help you the best here.

Thanks!

Hi Clough,

Thank you for your reply. I have a story of a page which, in an amazing way, proves the existence of God. I tried publishers but nobody seemed to be interested in an one-page book. So I myself am getting it published and printed (a one page book). Do you think it would work?

Hi again, Sampath99!

Of course you can do all of the publishing and promotion for it yourself. That would be especially easier than if it was a book of a couple hundred pages.

Would you want your book to be a hard bound or soft bound book?

Here's another thought - if it's going to be just one page long, how about having it laminated in thick plastic and add some other things to it to make it attractive and pleasing to the eye?

Thanks!
