We have a 4 burner counter top whirlpool range top stove. The small burner on the back left side does completely turn off. The hot light remains on and the burner is still warm.. not hot.. but warm. Something we can do? Or should I just call an electrican.

Faulty switch. Either replace the switch or call a repairman.
