I cosigned for my daughter on a car but unfortunately the way it works now is who ever has the better credit is who is the main signer... that would be me come to find out. She had the car for 6 months and had the car repoed. I have kept in contact with them simply because I was laid off for 4 months from June through Oct then finally the Company closed in March of this year. I let them know that I could not pay them anything because of this situation and then when the Comp closed in March I was taken to court in April and told the judge about my Comp and that I was not getting unemployment because of my part time position. They granted Judgement against me in April and today I received a letter stating they were sending my old job a notice of garnishment but they are out of business. I just started a new job this week making very little money 9.00 an hour but I took it because it was a job and need to get credit card bills caught up. I have not called them this week to tell them about the new job and my question is... Can they find out I got this new job?

Yes, they can eventually find out... but you might as well wait until they do.

It doesn't matter who is primary or secondary. When you co-sign you have an equal responsibility to pay.

You can sue your daughter to recover the losses.
