My landlord put a note under my door today at 4 pm that my "bedroom blinds" must be replaced before 9 am tomorrow morning or she will replace them & charge me for the blinds and the labor.
I have 4 bedrooms - she did not tell me which blinds needed to be replaced. I have checked them all & there is nothing wrong with any of them.
AND this is less than 24 hours notice. Her office is closed & will not be open until tomorrow morning at 9 am - I will be at work at that time. I was at work when she put the note under my door as well.

Is this legal? I am in Alabama if it matters.

Im 99% sure that you cannot be held liable for repairs until you leave. If he tries to charge you, let a lawyer deal with it.

That is, assuming, something is wrong with your blinds. Take pictures of them tonight. You may need them in court someday.

It doesn't appear to be... In the first place, if the blinds came with the house they belong to the landlord and it's her responsibility to replace them if needed.

But, there's more going on here. The details of your residency are contained in your lease. I don't know what you agreed to. But, if it was me, I would NEVER want to stay in a complex with a crazy landlord. It makes quiet living difficult.

So, what I'd recommend depends on what you want to do. If you want to STAY, you need to act one way. If you want to LEAVE, you need to act another. Tell me what you want to do, and I'll tell you how to accomplish it.
