Hello. My husband filed for divorce in August of 2008 in NJ. We went to court on the day we were supposed to complete our divorce to speak to the judge. We stopped the divorce. The judge was happy for us and ripped up the papers. When we originally filed, we paid someone to file the paperwork for us. I got copies of everything filed so now my question is.. Can I use those SAME forms to file for our divorce this time? Where do I send and how do I do this?

Thank you so much for your time.

If you received those forms from the courts then I wouldn't try to reuse them because they should already be stamped and that would get confusing. Also there may have been changes to procedure since you last filed so check all of that first.

No the paperwork I have was a copy of what was submitted on our behalf when we wanted the divorce. It's nothing that was given to us by the courts. It's what we gave to THEM along with payment for applying for a divorce

If you filed the paperwork with the court then there is a case file number for it. I am sure the file was closed but it is still in the system. You might be able to reopen the case using the same file number. Otherwise you could use the old paperwork as a guide, but you would have to file new papers.
