Hi there...

I've gone through all of the 'checks'... breaker inside and out, turned them both on and off 'several times'. And nothing happens! Please help... what else can I do... will this cost a fortune to have someone come in and look at it?

Is it the inside or outside dan that won't come on? Either way multiple things could be wrong. Bad capacitor, bad fan, clogged or dirty filter or coil. It should not cost an arm and leg to get it looked at, but depending what is wrong will determine the cost of repairs. Good luck.

The fans inside are running fine... the air is blowing... it's just not cold. I turned the thermostat way down. It's the box outside that nothing is happening with. I've checked the wires... and the box out there... they are all fine. I think I'm going to have to call someone..?

Do you have a fused disconect, a switched, or just standard pull one for the outside unit?
Might be a bad contactor. If the coil on it is bad the unit outside won't turn on.
What kind of unit is it? And are you mechanically inclined?
