I have a Carrier 50ZPA package unit 1.5 years old. In the winter, the blower would come on by itself without the compressor engaging. Now in the June-July Summer, The compressor comes on but the blower fan just shuts off and does not come back on. The compressor keeps running with the blower fan off. I am running it with a Ritetemp thermostat. I have tesed it with a normal mechanical thermostat and same thing occurs. It is still under wrranty but the guy who installed is no longer in business. Friend of mine told me it could be a relay, but when we bought the relay, it is nowhere to be found on the unit, all it has is a capacitor and an electronic board. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I`m not a carrier tech,, but it could be that the relay/fan control is built in and a part of the electronic circuit board
Any carrier dealer (not just the original installer) should honer the warranty on the parts. But you will have to pay labor

What relay did you buy? Might have a problem with wiring shorting out or maybe the 24 volt has been chewed or is corrodid. I recommend finding an hvac company that works with carrier to come inspect it. I would not tell them that someone was working on it, that could and will void any warranty you might have.
