I have a 3 year old dachshund, who is overweight and I am confused I have tried everything I can think of. She is very active and plays with our other dogs all the dogs. We walk her daily, or at least until it got to hot. We live in the south and the heat index has been 105 degrees each day. Her legs look almost like those of a basset hound. She is what they call a pie bald and was suppose to be a mini, but that was totally wrong. She is about 16 inches long, and maybe 8 to 9 tall to her neck from foot. They say they breed the dachshund with beagles or bassets to get these colors. I think she should weigh between 20 to 25 lbs, by looking at her, she is thirty now. Any suggestions.

Pie bald is only a color not a size. Yes the color would have been achieved my crossing the dacshund with a dog like a beagle or basset hound, both of which are larger than a dacshund.
What sort of food are you feeding?
You can get some good low fat dry food for dogs that are obese or overweight.
Could you post up some pictures to see just how overweight he is? (asking to see whether it is a danger to his health or just a bit of extra weight)

Take your dog to the vet. They will determiine if she is overweight. There are prescription dog foods that help control the weight of dogs.
Believe it or not my vet offered for me to give my dog a diet medication that would decrease her weight back to normal in as little as six weeks.

Cute picture :)
Shee does look a little on the tubby side yes, but she is not grossly Obese.
Just try the low fat dry dog food for a few weeks and see if there is an improvement.
No table scraps and no added extras.
Remember to add the new food in slowly to avoid stomach upsets.
