Hi, I'm a mechanic for over 20 years.
I have a honda del sol with the 1.5
I didn't start the car for a couple days and it was raining. Usually the car would start first shot.
Now, when I tun the key on , it will not start until I listen and hear a relay kick on and the fuel pump run. Once running, it is business as usual, no misfires, hesitation , or stalling. Once I turn it off, I have the same problem starting it.
I have replaced the main relay, checked the ignition switch, and also put in a complete new distributor.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

. Clean the main ECM ground on the thermostat housing.

. It's possible the ECM is failing, if the Check Engine Light has been staying on during episodes when it doesn't start. Perform the K-Test on the ECM:

The K-Test: Remove the MAP Sensor connector and turn the ignition switch to ON (Position II). Using a multimeter, check for 5 volts going between the MAP Sensor connector's reference wire (+) and ground. As you look at the connector, this is the socket on the right. Really press the black test lead into a cleaned main ECM ground on the thermostat housing. If the voltage is low, it's probably indicating ECM failure. Most failed ECMs will record a fraction of a volt. To me, the K-Test is simple, elegant, and accurate.

. Here's how to replace the ECM, should it fail the K-Test:
