I am trying to reconnect my lexmark x75 all in one printer. I had it connected once before then I moved so it was packed up for a while. When I went to reconnect everything back to the PC it keeps telling me to install hardware, I went to the lexmark site to download it. I went to the add a printer but it doesn't have the lexmark x75 on the list so I am not sure which one to choose. Can someone please tell me how to reconnect my printer to my PC. It is a windows xp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank YOu

You said you went to the Lexmark side and downloaded the driver. But, when you installed the driver, you don't see the printer listed. Is this under Windows XP or Windows Vista?

The file that I downloaded is named CJXP75LE.exe. Is this the file you downloaded? It's a self-extracting executable. It will extract itself into a directory (by default) named C:\Lxkx75. You should be able to run the Setup program in that directory. If that runs but doesn't fix the problem, try to update the driver manually.

You can also try to load or update the printer driver manually and -- not automatically. Delete the printer, unplug the printer and reboot. After you've booted, plug in the printer. The system should find the printer and will try to install the software. Don't "automatically" install it. You'll want to choose which printer to install and when it asks you to pick a printer, select the button labeled "Have Disk". This will let you browse to C:\Lxkx75. Once you click "OK", the system should read all the drivers in that directory and present you a list. Hopefully, you'll be able to find the printer listed. You might have to uninstall Lexmark software before this will work.

There are other drivers for this printer on the Internet. Google "Lexmark x75 driver". One of those may work.
