Hey I think I'm going through depression but I'm not sure. What are signs of depression?

Hi,
The first thing I would say is - if you're depressed, you're not alone. 8-12 per cent of people suffer from depression every year, and most of them make full recoveries. Some of the happiest people I know dealt with clinical depression at some point.
For signs, one of the most obvious and tangible is fatigue - often physical fatigue. Are you sleeping a lot more, finding you can't get out of bed, a physical lethargy? Loss of appetite sometime occurs, but by no means always. Losing interest even in your passions, withdrawing from other people, reluctance to go out, difficulty concentrating and working and obviously, a feeling of hopelessness.
If this sounds like you, the best advice I can offer is to take it easy. What you're going through is as normal as any other common illness - although fewer people admit to it than admit to a broken leg or flu. Like all illnesses, you'll need a combination of rest and professional help. A visit to a doctor is a good first step. I don't know if you're in the US or UK, so I can't give more specific advice. But think of it as recovering from a bad virus - you ned to rest, but at the same time you need to structure your time and gradually "train yourself up" to facing the world again - slowly but surely increasing the amount of exercise you do, setting goals for improvement , etc... otherwise you'll end up in a circular lethargy. But do seek help - this is a common problem, and there are lots of resources to deal with it. Do let me know if I can be of any more help.
