Drummer and best friend... we had a spat a week ago!

Long story short... we had a gig... VIA TEXT MESSAGGING.. he tells me last minute he has no wheels and can't do the gig.
So I say o.k... let me know if I need to hire a sub-in.

I immediately start calling up all the drummers I know and leave messages I need help.

Then I remember... I have a trailer hitch... that a trailer would work... he replies to me... SET IT UP.. . then he starts asking how much he's getting paid!
That pissed me off... like it's my problem he has to ask his wife to borrow the car?
So I called about the trailer... but they couldn't help me out... they won't rent to Jeeps.

So... after about an hour of texts... I subbed the gig out... but I'm the now!

I told him I felt he was taking advantage of our friendship and that I am his boss too!
He didn't like that. And it's been a week... no talking... am I out of line?

Musicians are the biggest flakes on the planet ( I am one). My life got so convoluted with the drama, betrayal and laziness that I decided I'd rather just play alone. Granted, I would love to have the dynamic sound a band can create, but it's not worth it to me. I love interacting with other artists and musicians, but I will never RELY on them again. Long story short, he'll probably forget about the incident soon enough, if not, I wouldn't sweat it.
