I need to install a new residential service on my house. Small mishap with a tree this past weekend. Does code specify that my entrance cable must be in conduit since there is a side walk on the same side as the service? If so what is the minimum size plastic conduit I need to use for a 100 amp service? Thank you for your help

SE cable can be used when not subjected to physical damage. Some cities do not allow SE cable if the cable is exposed coming out the bottom of the meter before it enters the building. None have any restrictions on the riser, that I know of.
Using PVC conduit should cover you no matter.
1-1/4" conduit is normally used for a 100 amp service using 3- #3 XHHW aluminum conductors.
