Hi... I will try to be concise and to the point... My kitchen sink became stopped up so I am trying to fix it myself. So far I have been able to stick 25 ft. of a tape measure all the way down the clean out drain but when I went to put a hose in the pipe to try to blast out whatever was clogging it it immediately burst water and garbage back out at me instead of pushing it through the pipe. Then I went and bought a snake and I am unable to get the snake in even 3 ft before it gets stuck. I guess my point is why can I put 25 feet of a aluminum tape measure into the pipe 25 ft and I cannot get the snake to go in? If I am not being very clear please forgive me but try to help me anyway. I am going crazy because it is not making sense to me. Thank you

Aluminum tape is a thin piece of metal that will pierce clog w/o problem. Snake has a cutting tip that is unable to negotiate through the blockage and/or 90 ell fitting in the drain. Keep trying, be patient... When snake hits the blockage, continue running the snake while applying pressure forward. It may take few minutes...
