I am changing out the condenser fan motor on my Carrier Comfort series ac unit. I had a GE 1/4hp motor with three wires and I went to Grainger and got a universal replacement for it. However this motor has four wires of different color. So my original motor had Yellow (common) and Black (line) from the contactor, fine I think and one Brown line from the capacitor. The new motor (dayton) has a Black, Purple, Brown and Brown/White lines. I think I know where the Black and Purple wires go but since I only removed one wire from the capacitor, where do I put the two wires from the new motor? And which one goes where? The diagram on the motor does not specify. Thank you for your help in advance.

I will tomorrow. I going to go back to grainger and ask for a capacitor that goes with this new motor. My only concern is that the connection for the capacitor to the contactor portion.
