Hi! I am installing a step in tub. The overflow and drain are exactly as a bathtub would be except that the overflow is ablout twice as high as a regular bath tub.
In addition, this one has what's called reverse plumbing, when I attach the overflow and the tub drain fitting (a tee) I then attached a 90 degree adapter and ran a 4 1/2 ft of pipe to the original drain, installed another 90. The P trap is in the slab lower down about 20 inches it appears and it could even be farther down the system somewhere I have no idea as I cannot access the slab for above or below.
There is a P trap as the building is only 10 years old and would have sure been inspected. I am running 1 1/2 abs for all pipe and fitting "except" the over flow, I used an 1 1/4 flex line for that.
Am I OK so far? Do I need to increse the overflow drain size, since it acts as a vent also?
Look forward to your replay
