Over the last several weeks, I have noticed that the toilet will run for about 10 seconds, although it is not being used. It seems to coincide with using the kitchen or bathtub drains. I'd appreciate any suggestions...

Hi Liz,

Pull the lid and look at twe water level in the tank. It should be 1/2" below the top of the white overflow tube. I bet yours is right up to the top. If it is adjust the level and your troubles will be over. If not then click on back and we'll go to "plan B". Cheers, Tom

Is "plan B" a warped or distorted flapper valve?:D

It sure is Growler. Liz, If the waterlevel's OK then run your fingers around the flat side of the flapper. If it has wavy edges or is rough, replace it. Regards, Tom

Plan 'A' seems to have worked! Thanks for making me look like I knew what I was doing. ;)
