Hi,
I replaced my dryer belt. Now the dryer turns again but if I put clothes in it will not turn. I was told I probably have to increase the tension on the belt. How do I do this. I assume it is by adjusting the idler pulley
Thanks

Doksteve - There are ( 5) reasons for this problem;; hoping that #1 is it; here they are ;; #1 - The idler arm or spring is not in the place it should be OR broken;; #2- You did not make sure the ribbed side of the belt went against the drum;; #3- You were given the wrong belt for the dryer you have;;#4DEfective support roller;; #5- Faulty motor;;Note - Check each one of the above, here is the repairs that will have to be made if you find the guilty part , by the number above;;; #1- Check idler spring and pully ::REplace the part that is defective,or both;; #2- Raise the top of the dryer or check it from the bottom access panel at the bottom when you are checking the idler arm;; #3- Talk to the place you got the new belt , give them the model number and other required info . And have them to check; have your bill of sale with you so to check it also ;; #4- Check support roller and reoplace if defective;; #5- Check the motor and have it repaired or replaced[ NOTE - the motor may be to week to turn the drum with clothes in it {WET} ; I hope that I have helped you if you still have a problem ,come back on here to this post and let me know ;; Have a great day and GOD BLESS ;; F.B.E.
