Our dishwasher is @ 2 years old and according to the sears repair guy it has a bad bearing that will cost $461 to repair. Does anyone know of any other options or have experience in repairing themselves? We're already into it for the $75 visit and another $461 is just way too much money to spend for a 2 year old dishwasher. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I agree. It's out of line.

I would write a letter to Sears and ask them to consider repairing this under warranty. For two years, it's unreasonable for a bearing that costly to fail. If they refuse, go for another dishwasher -- but do what a reasonable person would do and don't buy it from Sears. I'm not saying that their products are low quality, I'm just saying that after I get stung, I don't put my hand back in the bee's nest.
