42 inch cut, Poulon riding lawn mower will go forward & cut grass, with no problem.
It just will not go in reverse. The lever where you shift gears is a little hard to move forwards & backwards. The lever moves to all gears, the transmission will not engage in reverse, any suggestions?? Thanks.

It sounds like you have something haywire with your linkage. It is adjustable but I think a manual may be of more help than I can with this limited space. If you have your model number you can visit Owner's Manual | Find Product User Manuals - Managemyhome.com (http://www.managemyhome.com/mmh/owner_manuals?psid=54057038&sid=PaidSearchxGooglexManuals) to get a free downloaded manual. Click on lawn tractors and then brand to narrow the search to Poulan. Before doing any adjustments clean the pivot points and spray with a silicone lube, check for anything that looks bent.

Thanks for the insight. I was just hoping it was not something major in the transmission. At least I can still mow in forward, not too bad. I really appreciate the owners manual advice.
