Recently I've noticed like in the past year my periods have been very smelly. It's not like the regular smell, this one smells like "poop"! My period was over this Friday. On Sunday I had intercourse and it was smelling the same way. It was sooooo embarrassing. I
Ve got checked and doctor says everything is fine. I think sumptn else is going on. I wonder if it the smell changes as one gets older? I'm 45 and this had never happened to me before. I'm not exaggerating.

Do you whip after "pooping" back to front? Do you cleen your vagina in the shower?

I was actually going to ask if you wipe front to back.

Do you shower twice as much as normal during Aunt Flow's visit?

This happened to me when I was younger, and this was when I was using maxis. I switched to Tampax (tampons) and all was better.

Plus I've learned better hygiene practices since my pre-teen years.

Yeah, I'm a health educator, and I know all the do's and dont's. I have never douched because they say it's not good. I'm very sensitive when it comes to hygiene and especially odors. So I stay clean and fresh all the time. But this is coming from inside of my cervix, or my pelvis area. This cannot be simply washed away with soap or water, or from changing to different types of pads, because that only covers the external part of the body. This is coming from the inside. I'm sure that there must be sumptn going on. I've never had this problem before. Even on my worst hygiened day, it never smelled like that. Thanks for your feed back.:(

Time to get a second opinion. It sounds like an infection that is going to need antibiotics to clear up.
