We are about to put our house on the market and wanted to start making changes prior to selling.

Should we take down all borders?
Should we paint colored walls to a neutral color?

Any other suggestions would be very helpful!

Thank you!
Jessica

move out all clutter, personal photos. Take out too much furniture so the house looks larger. Clean out closets so they look almost empty, makes them look bigger.

Neutral color is good, carpets cleaned, and the outside should be perfect to make them want to come in.

Also get the home appraised so you have a realistic value. Homes are down 30 to 50 percent in value from 2 years ago in this area.

Have the front yard looking in tip top shape or they won't even come inside. Freshly mowed, trimmed edged, and plant colorful flowers in ground or baskets/pots. Open shades when there will be a showing to let in natural light! Clean those windows too! Then turn on all lights to make it even brighter. Besides the other tips from Chuck, get some fresh towels to put out when house will be shown. Use that new arasol febreeze and spray on towels, bedspreads etc or get the slice and back cookies and bake right before showings so the house smells good. Another tip-you can put a drop of Vanilla extract or oil on lightbulbs and when they turned on the house smells like vanilla
