I have trying to conceive for two months. I think I ovulated on the 10th April 09. Have had irregular periods so not sure how long my cycles are at the moment.
Got what I thought was my period on the 24th of May, it was very very light and 2nd day only spotting.
On the 27th I started to get REALLY sore breasts and nipples which I never get with any of my periods, it kept me up one night they were so sore!!
It is the 28th of May today and I took a home preganancy test and that was negagtive.
I am also rather tired. I was wondering if I could be pregnant and when I should do another hpt?
PS I had blood tests to check my hormone levels and they were all good.

I really look forward to some advice.

Thanks:)

Since you have irregular periods to begin with, and the last one seemed to be unusual to you, I'd try another test in about a week's time. Normally you could wait until the next month and see what happens when your period would be due, but in your situation that won't be a reliable indicator. If you get a negative, and still feel you might be pregnant, see your doctor about having a blood test done to confirm one way or the other.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks For that. I am just so looking forward to eing pregnant I hope I am not obsessing. I have only really been trying the month of April and even thou I am 38 I had no idea how few days we have to actually conceive!
I am thinking of taking Vitex and was would like to hear if it a good thig or not.
Thanks

It's hard once you start trying to not count days and watch for any possible sign. You may be one of the lucky ones who fall pregnant straight away... but it is not unusual for it to take many months of active trying either, so try not to get too disappointed if it doesn't happen quickly. If at all possible, have fairly frequent sex throughout each cycle as concentrating just on that small window of time can cause you to miss it if you don't know your cycle very well.

At 38 however, it would be a good idea to look into further testing for both you and your partner if no success after about 6 months.

Vitex helps some women depending on the issue... irregular cycles can be one of them. Some women will try that first before considering any prescribed supplement. It does take a few cycles before many women see any change however. Look into it and talk to your midwife or gp about it as well.
