Hi,

I am working to design a high pressure, cool water system (2000 psi) including spray nozzles and would like to know if either black iron pipe or galvanized pipe would be preferable. Things I'm concerned with are durability, cost, nozzles clogging... the water is only for cleaning, not for drinking. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Dan

"I am working to design a high pressure, cool water system (2000 psi) including spray nozzles and would like to know if either black iron pipe or galvanized pipe would be preferable." Galvanized pipe would be preferable if it would work. BUT---
If your asking if regular wroght iron pipe ,(either black or galvanized) will work in a high pressure system the answer's NO. Regular weight gal or black pipe's rated at 150 to 200 PSI. Check out high pressure steel pipe.
Good luck, Tom

Thanks very much for the input. Is it possible that Schedule 80 stainless steel pipe would withstand the pressure?
