Hi,
I was wondering how I would go about putting the names of my daughter's on my deed? If I do this does is guarantee that they will inherit my home when I die? These questions answered would be very helpful. I am from Massachsetts, I don't know if there is different laws for different states but I thought I'd add it to be sure.

Thanks,

There is a sticky post at the top of the Real Estate Law forum that explains how to add someone to your deed. However you should be aware that there are tax consequences if you do so since you are giving them a gift.

If you want to make sure that they get your home when you die then you can just make a will.

You need to tell us more about who else there is, are you married, whose else name is on the deed.

If you put them on the deed correctly, then it is not inherited, but merely they become the owner, but a properly done will will allow them to inherit the property.

It is always best to consult with a probate attorney as to the results of any action
