We own a log cabin that we rent out and was here 4 weeks ago and when we came this time there are several areas with holes from carpenter bees. We can't treat this problem ourselves. What do we need to do? We do have a pest control contract, do you think they will they be able to take care of this for us. I've read to paint, but this is stain.

Your service company may or may not cover carpenter bees, as they are classified in some states as a wood-destroying insect like termites or carpenter ants. They can probably get rid of this years' infestation for a small additional charge. You say the cabin is stained, have you looked into sealant/waterproofing? The bees are looking for wood that's safe to lay their eggs inside of. Solid coatings confuse them, as the wood is no longer what they have to chew into to start the hole.
