I have a good question. I have a few old reports on my credit report dating back to '94 and back. I paid one off completely and was one day late on the payment... called the company and had them take off the interest payment and make 'good' on the paid off credit card. Now 15+ years later they are trying to get me for back interest. This is crazy. I have another report from about the same time and a very interesting thing happened including selling my membership... but they have no copy of my record and I usually get rid of anything after 7 years. I have tried to dispute this with pres & first lady to the point that I have the mgr. of the collection agency on my side... but I don't have any papers or anything to show them.

Any help?

Merely dispute it on the credit reports, and/or notify them that this is a old and should not be removed.

Now of course they can always try and collect, just not sue for judgement

I have also had the jerks call me to collect too. I have told one that it is about 15 years old and I will dispute it so send me the info to do so... never heard from them again. One so rudely told me that I would never get credit to do anything... I told her really? I just bought a house... hmmmm... guess they were just hounding me to collect?
