I have a 91 honda civic 1.5 4 speed manual with 268,000 miles. When I take off from a dead stop the car will buck and jerk sometimes very violently. And then when I shift into second it will do it again but then kind of smooths out. And when I shift into third it kind of does it again. There are times when it does it really bad and other times that it doesn't do it at all. There are also times that when I accelerate it has a hestation and sometimes feels like it almost wants to stall out completely and I have to feather the gas pedal until all of a sudden it smooths out and begins to pick up speed. There are times when it doesn't do it at all and when I'm just cruising down the highway it runs great. It started doing this about a year ago and used to read a code 16 but I've reset the computer a few times after replacing parts. It hasn't had a code come up in a while but the problem is still there. I've had a couple different mechanics look at the car and they haven't been able to figure it out. The distributor was replaced with a brand new one. The throttle body was replaced with one out of another honda. I've also checked the timing and did a tune-up. One of the mechanics also did a fuel pressure test which turned out fine. I've also replaced the water pump and timing belt. I also had the muffler shop check out the catalytic converter per the mechanics recommendation and it was fine. If someone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
