I have a 4th gen nano and this problem which other people and the apple support site have been posting about just started happening to me today except its not gradual like it ppears to be for other users. Its been working fine for the last hour (ive been tuned in while studying for exams) and all of a sudden in the middle of a song it just stops as if its paused itself. I press play twice and it starts up again only to do the same thing on the next song, and the next, and every song since that. I'm not sure why its happening or how to fix it (my iPod was a christmas gift and the person who gave me it never kept the receipt but I don't really want rid of it or all the music it took ages to put onto it.) I thought at first that because after loading music onto it I closed itunes don't and then switched off my computer without discinecting first that might have caused it but if other people are having this problem too it can't be right... is there a solution no one on the support site seemed to know the answer? Please help!

My 4th gen does this too sometimes. Usually all I have to do is restart it (by pressing the center and menu buttons at the same time for a few seconds) and it will be fixed. I haven't tried this, but I heard that keeping it off for a few hours to days fixes it. If this doesn't work I'd try going to a Radio Shack (or someplace else that deals with electronics well... ) and have them look at it possibly. Hope I helped! :D
