I have been having pregnancy symptoms very recently. However, my symptoms could also be due to stress or other conditions.
I am hoping someone out there can tell me how long till I can take a pregnancy test. I no most tests will say to only use after a missed period, but as I am not due on for another couple of weeks, and that I have irregular periods, I would like to know how long after conception will a home pregnancy test provide me with an accurate result.
Also could anyone tell me if any of the below symptoms I have listed, only occur in pregnancy:
- feel pregnant
- odd sensations in the abdomem
- nausia at times
- urges for particular foods sometimes
- broken out in spots on my face
- brown, dry patch appeared on my face
- occasional stomach cramps
-lower back pain
- fatigue
Please be aware that if I am pregnant , from the date of my last period, I would only be 2-3weeks pregnant, so could these just be the result of stress or could they be early pregnancy signs? Please help if you can!

Hi there, this is a difficult one really. It depends, did you start getting these symptons then wondering whether you might be pregnant,or did you start wondering straight after conception that you might get pregnant? It does seem to matter as (forgive me for this as I know it sounds as though I'm disbelieving the way you feel, I'm not) it is to easy to start feeling pregnancy symptons, particulalry if you are stressed as well and due on your period after conception which sometimes pregnancy symptons will appear because you're convinced you are pregnant or think you maybe. Do you know what I mean?
You might very well be pregnant, but you're not really going to know until later when you have a missed period and the pregnancy test show positive. Although some tests do claim to beable to tell you whether you are or not just after conception, but I don't think this is an accurate reading, there's just not enough time passed until after your period is due.
Here's a site that might help answer that question How Soon After Conception Can I Take A Pregnancy Test? (http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/how-soon-pregnancy-test.html)
As far as the other things are concerned, the stomach cramps could just be PMT, feeling pregnant could be you thinking you maybe pregnant, which could be accompanied by odd sensations and the nausea, lower back pain and fatigue. That said though, only you know how you feel and how you normally feel. But unfortunately it is a waiting game, I only found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks and then I didn't start my period, only then I started using cheap pregnancy tests and they all came back positive and followed by my doctor confirming that I was.
Anyway, fingers crossed you will find out soon enough :o

Many of those symptoms can also be associated with normal female hormonal changes (like ovulation) or as you said stress. One of the most prominent symptoms I had before my missed period was very frequent urination (it was like having a UTI only it didn't hurt). You should be able to take a test a few days before your missed period or throughout the entire pregnancy. The tests read a hormone produced by the embryo called Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, it is present throughout pregnancy.
Also... imagining you might be pregnant can play some serious games with your mind that further cement the "symptoms".

A small percentage of women will get a positive result as early as 8 days after ovulation, but tests become more accurate the closer you get to when your period is due and once you are actually late. Many women will test early on, get a negative, only to find they get a positive a couple of weeks later.
Since your cycles are irregular, that makes it a bit more difficult to go with a missed period, but if you were 2-3 weeks pregnant, you could feel those symptoms, but... as the others have said, they are common also prior to a period.
All you can do is try a test and see what you get. If negative... give it a couple more weeks and try another one if you still feel your symptoms could be due to pregnancy or see your gp.
