My Kenmore dryer electric large capacity dryer, model # 110.66722694 just stopped yesterday. I can turn the timer on, push the start button, open the dryer door and feel the heat. I can see a red glow through the vent in the back of the dryer but the dryer is doing nothing else, not spinning and no noise. I thought about the belt but wouldn't there be some sort of noise if it was just the belt? HELP! :(

If it's the motor, it's actually pretty easy to replace, and definitely worth it. If the motor isn't getting power, they you need to find out why the power isn't getting there. It may be a control board or just a switch.

Kenmore doesn't post their shop manuals online, so I can't really trace it down for you. There might be a wiring diagram taped inside the console of the dryer or somewhere else.

If you can verify that power is getting to the motor, but the motor is not rotating, then it's a no-brainer to replace the motor. If, however, power is not getting to the motor then you probably will need a wiring diagram to trouble-shoot it. There may be a wiring diagram inside the console, on the back of the dryer, or mounted inside an access door. If you can't find a wiring diagram, I'd recommend you get a service manual that, hopefully, contains a wiring diagram and possibly some helpful information:

Ok, the interior light is working and the door switch turns it on and off, the heat is still working when you turn the timer on and it cuts off when you turn the time off. I lifted the top and the belt is in tact and all the top wiring looks good so I guess now I have to pull the dryer out and take the back off and as you said, check out the motor/power. I'm a newbie at this so it will certainly be interesting to say the least but at least I'll know how to repair a Kenmore Dryer when I'm through... LOL. BTW... I found the wiring diagram folded and taped to the inside of the console.
