Help, I put a rug on my laminate flooring and when I picked it up to clean the floor underneath, there is a sticky residue. Any one know what I can use to remove this residue?

Goo Gone. You can try some alcohol as well.

Fir general cleaning I use a little dishwashing liquid in warm water.

Depends on what the sticky film is.
Don't put any liquid on the floor.
Just use a damp cloth to clean it with.
If it's from the rubber on the back of the rug,
You may have to use mineral spirits or even some lighter fluid.
Don't put much of this on the floor,
Just put a little on a rag and see if it works.

Good luck,

You got good advice so far. Do you have a spare scrap of the flooring? Try some solvents on the scrap to make sure none will harm the laminate, they aren't all the same and a few will suck up any liquids that reach their edges

What kind of backing was on the rug?
