I have a Rheem 5 ton central AC. The Condenser fan motor was changed with a after market motor. It is making noise and I am sure will not operate much longer. Is there a way to determine original equipment specs? HP, RPM etc. When shopping online for motors there are a lot of questions about the replacement motor I don't know. I would prefer to match the original equip specs.

First you will need a EXACT model number for the outside unit.

You will end up paying a lot more for a oem motor. But I agree with hvac1000 you will need the model and may be the serial #

The model and serial number for the Condenser? Once I have that where would I look for the original fan specs? I don't mind after market at all. I would just like to be sure if I can that it matched original equip HP, RPM etc. Or do you think it matters as long as this one seems to work?

Parts with spec for motor. Enter model number on this page search and it will take you to your units parts page. It will bring up your unit components. Your motor is listed.
American HVAC Parts (http://americanhvacparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc)?
Rheem uses a special mounting system with additional attachment areas on the motor. I suggest you stick with the Rheem standard motor for your system. This motor might also be available at Grainger company if yuou have one close to you.
