I have a Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer. It is approx. 3 yrs old.
I have noticed that when I put clothes in to dry and hit start it has the digital time displayed for a minute or so then a message appears saying AF and it starts flashing. I have to hit the clear button and it goes back to the designated time. Why would this be happening and what does the message AF mean?
Thank you

Here's the Whirlpool literature page. You'll have to look on the dryer to find out the model number.
Whirlpool Product Literature Search (http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search.jsp)
This web site says that it's due to low air flow. That probably suggests either a clogged lint filter (that's probably what the AF means -- "Air Flow") or a plugged vent line.
Error code AF Whirlpool cabrio dryer - FixYa (http://www.fixya.com/support/t283887-error_code_af_whirlpool_cabrio_dryer)
Here's a quote from the manual they reference.
"“AF” (low airflow condition):
The dryer will continue to run when this diagnostic code is present. Press any key to clear the code from the display and return to the estimated time remaining.
Try the following:
Clean lint screen.
Check to see if the vent run from the dryer to the wall is crushed or kinked.
Confirm the vent run from the dryer to the wall is free of lint and debris.
Confirm the exterior vent exhaust hood is free of lint and debris.
Confirm your vent system falls within the recommended run length and number of elbows for the type of vent you are using.
Select a Timed Dry heated cycle, and restart the dryer.
If the message persists, have your entire home venting run cleaned."
