I just bought a new house and I have a well I'am trying to hook up for temporary water (not used to drink) to use in my bathroom until I get my rural water installed. The water is good, and was the original well that serviced the house. It is a shallow well. It is a piece of 2ft colvert pipe. The water starts about 12ft from the surface and has about 8 feet of water in it. I tried to pump it out with a small pump that moved 3 gpm for a hour and the water level didn't drop at all. What I need to know is what size jet pump do I need to pump the water up 20 feet, and to my house that is about 300ft away at a slight uphill incline?
