My Father, 91, is trying to clean out his house, (Yes, packratittis is genetic), so he was asking if the 1926 Encyclopedia Britannica , published in Britain is worth something to collector? After trying to sell books on E-bay, I found there doesn't seem to be much interest and the shipping is high due to the weight. Any thoughts on a ballpark value?
Thanks, Packrat

This first link wants $1350.00? don't know if it's realistic.
Encyclopedia Britannica - 32 Volumes in 16 (http://www.seattlebookcenter.com/si/_vl_025844.html)
Then check out some facts here:
1926 Encyclopedia Britannica - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?q=1926+Encyclopedia+Britannica+&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLR_en)

Thanks for the quick response w/ info. It's a good start, price is encouraging. I think books are somewhat like collector cars, 100 point restored-priceless, well-read , a fraction of the value. Thanks again, Packrat

Yeah, I also saw some a lot cheaper, You should at least look through them for a while, 1/2 hour at the least, I love books, currently don't have the room or extra funds at the moment, If you can't get a fair price for them, let me know, I am less than 100 miles away.
