I would like to know if anyone can help me. I recently filed an contempt order for my child father and the judge let him go making him pay an extra $150 a month. He didn't he paid everything, but $100 of what the judge ordered him to do. He owes me $8,000 in back child support. How can I file for another contempt and will I have to pay for it to file. I live in Ga. I don't know exactly how to go by it. The court clerks can't tell me cause they said I need to ask a lawyer for advice.

Do you have the state child support enforcement working on this

Is there a garnishment order for his wages

And correct court clerks can not by law give you legal advice.

If he is still ignoring the last order of the judge , yes you can take him back to court

I have the state involved in this, but they are not really doing anything about it. This is why I had to bring him to court myself. He had ignored the first and this last order. Will I have to pay another court fee for filing. The new court order was issues April 20,2009. How will he be notified of a court date of being in contempt.

Under GA law a parent can be charged with criminal abandonment if they fail to support their child. I would look into doing that.
